Приєднався 8 тра 2007
Bill Meligari first brought his knowledge of the Gladstone Technique to drummers in an August 1979 Modern Drummer Magazine article. Nineteen years later, he introduced Gladstone worldwide over the Internet at www.TigerBill.com.
Nicknamed the "Tiger" by legend Joe Morello, Bill has spent more than thirty years in search of the ultimate technique. He found it in "Tension Free Drumming". Modifying traditional methods taught by Billy Gladstone, Sanford Moeller, and George L. Stone, Bill's system allows you to play with maximum speed, power, endurance, precision, and control but without tension that causes today's common repetitive motion injuries, such as carpal tunnel and tendonitis.
In 2004 Bill gained worldwide recognition winning the NAMM World's Fastest Drummer Competition playing over 1,000 bpm with his hands and feet!

Drum Lessons: Choosing the Best Drum Instructor for You
Hey thanks!
This is the simplest explanations I have heard. I have been stuck on my 2 against 3 for weeks. My instructor was not even able to explain this to me in a way that I was able to understand. Thank you so much for the information. You allowed me to be able to play through my latest lesson without trying to guess where the notes go.
Glad I could help. It all breaks down to simple math.
Thanks for sharing. Happy New Year and Happy Drumming!!! 🙏 ❤ 🌹 Buddy 🌹 ❤ 🙏
thank you for useful idea, seeing a few orchestration examples from your picks(etude no3&9) would be great...
Thanks for your suggestion! Coming soon!
Ciao potresti fare una lezione sul movimento della mano sinistra in velocità e lenta grazie

Thank you

Thanks for subscribing and welcome from the USA.
You can count the groups of 9 as groups of 3 on 8th note triplets. 1 x x trip x x let x x 2 x x trip x x let x x 3 x x trip x x let x x 4 x x trip x x let x x
Finally found the source of Dilla's drum inpiration
HI! I read your article that you mention in the video. If I'm not mistaken you didn't mention the finger technique in the article, why?
My article was meant to introduce the basic core mechanics of the Gladstone system to drummers. You can find more details on Billy's advanced techniques, including his use of fingers and arms, by checking out the link included in my description of this post. Have fun and stay loose.
i real feel like im a natural and i havent tried the drums yet but i would like to some day
There's no time like the present to try your hand at playing the drums. For more info, check out the link placed in my description of this post. Have fun and keep me posted as to your progress with the drums!
Bill , you have truly great hand, wrist, and forearm movement, plus great loose arms. I studied with Joe (and always had some good laughs at the lessons… I still really miss him, I bet you do too). Just wondering: you seem to use mostly finger control in the right hand, but mostly wrist-turn plus some great finger work in the left hand. Is that just how you prefer to play, or some other reason?
Thanks for the kind words. I will always remember the times I spent with Joe both as student and friend. As for your question: I actually often do use my right wrist in combination with my fingers but it turns at an unusual angle and often looks like I'm only using finger isolation.
2:58 You're welcome.
Thanks for showing this lick! Great lesson….
ta de sacanagem
Nope. I'm serious. LOL
64 notes in 20bpm?
very good info my friend! thank you!!!
Digging this...thanks!
Very cool idea. What tempo do you generally do for maintenance??
It varies. I practice slower tempos to build endurance and faster tempos to build speed.
That’s amazing! Thank you!
Thanks for the kind words... And you're welcome!
Great vid! Joe will always be one of my favorites!
New subscriber from Morocco, thanks bro.
You're welcome and thank you for subscribing.
Shug Gallagher is correct.
So far...the best way to add stick control rudiments to the drums..that lve seen.
Thanks so much for the good word.😎
Great videos
Thanks Mike.
Great idea!!! Thanks!!!
Thanks! Stay tuned. More variations to come! 😎
@@TigerBillsDrumBeat Very very cool!!!
Very cool ! So would it be correct to say when you're swinging the ride pattern instead of playing straight triplets ,ie 2 and a your now playing 2 a 3 etc ?
Take the 2 eighth notes, write out a triplet, put one note on the down beat and the other on the “ah”. Now your swinging eight notes. Hope this helps
@@rondeangelis7384 Thanks Ron
@@timothyscanlan812 any time ✌️
@@timothyscanlan812 oh btw, if you see any jazz transcriptions written with 1/8th notes mostly due to saving space. So just swing them also as i described
Perfect Bill. Another great way to use our bibles 👍👏
Glad you like it Ron!
ua-cam.com/video/5pidokakU4I/v-deo.html 👍
Cool. Thanks for posting
You got it! 😎
thanks so much!
You're Welcome! 😎
I do like the sound of the flat flam on one drum. Just adds a different color to the picture!!!
That's what I love about the drum set. With a little experimentation, you can get endless colors! 😎
Well bill, I’ve tried multiple ways to count ofd groupings, running out of breath. Never thought just counting the leading hand that switches. 👌
Yup! I'm too lazy to do all that counting! lol - Counting every other stroke cuts your work in half and easier yet, is to count it to yourself... Have fun! 😎
Wow awesome tiger bill. Yet another way to play the exercises with latin/Brazilian genre. Thankx 👌
Glad you liked it! The variations are literally endless! 😎
Great exercise Tiger Bill. 👍Wondering if you could do a video on when playing a jazz tune, how do you determine what to come up with that fits the tune to trade 4’s? I tried using syncopation exercises for trading 4’s and sounds too much like an exercise.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add it to my list... Stay tuned! 😎
@@TigerBillsDrumBeat that would be fantastic thankx my friend 🙏🏻
I don’t have drums but I have buckets
Use them! You can create a cool sounding set with them. Have Fun!
Powerful stuff!!! You need P r o m o S M.
so good. thanks!
You got it! Have Fun!
🌈 Promo`SM!
Great info, thanks!
Glad you like it... Have Fun!
Great video! It sounds like your snare wires are vibrating from your voice, fyi :)
Live snares always vibrate at different frequencies but nothing makes them go crazy like a pumping bass! Have Fun!
Of all the UA-cam videos out there on this technique this by far is the simplest and clearest explanation I have seen. Thank you
Glad you found it useful Carl. Thanks and Have Fun!
Great lesson, wonderful example for my open handed playing Students, thanks for sharing !! (i'm a new subscriber)
You're welcome and Thanks! Glad you find it useful for your students! Stay Loose!
Great, Bill. I have these books!!
Very Cool! They're among the best!😎
I fast forwarded halfway thru the bid & still no examples of playing. Im a visual learner, this video has too much tell, not enough show for me.
GREAT LESSON I LOVE ALL OF JOES DRUM BIBLES
Glad you liked it! Yes, Joe's are certainly among the best available and can be even better with some variations. 😎
Useful stuff 👍
