    This is the simplest explanations I have heard. I have been stuck on my 2 against 3 for weeks. My instructor was not even able to explain this to me in a way that I was able to understand. Thank you so much for the information. You allowed me to be able to play through my latest lesson without trying to guess where the notes go.

    Bill , you have truly great hand, wrist, and forearm movement, plus great loose arms. I studied with Joe (and always had some good laughs at the lessons… I still really miss him, I bet you do too). Just wondering: you seem to use mostly finger control in the right hand, but mostly wrist-turn plus some great finger work in the left hand. Is that just how you prefer to play, or some other reason?

    • @TigerBillsDrumBeat
      @TigerBillsDrumBeat 6 місяців тому

      Thanks for the kind words. I will always remember the times I spent with Joe both as student and friend. As for your question: I actually often do use my right wrist in combination with my fingers but it turns at an unusual angle and often looks like I'm only using finger isolation.

    Very cool ! So would it be correct to say when you're swinging the ride pattern instead of playing straight triplets ,ie 2 and a your now playing 2 a 3 etc ?

    • @rondeangelis7384
      @rondeangelis7384 2 роки тому

      Take the 2 eighth notes, write out a triplet, put one note on the down beat and the other on the “ah”. Now your swinging eight notes. Hope this helps
